Aware of the complex and delicate nature of the immigrant situation, Trewon’s bilingual evaluation team closely partnered with the AFSC staff on all aspects of the evaluation. This collaboration ensured that we remain sensitive to the border environment, its constraints, and cultural and social perspectives while conducting a scientifically rigorous study.

  • Trewon Completes Evaluation of Indigenous Based Social Justice Program

    Born out of a desire to move beyond criminal justice advocacy, the Healing Justice New England Program draws its inspiration and focus from Indigenous principles employed to help communities impacted by oppression to heal from intergenerational trauma and grief that are often at the root cause of poor social cohesion. Physically located in Perry, ME with a satellite office in Cambridge, MA, the program began a long process of reimagining its Criminal Justice Program and its expanded focus in 2007. In late October 2016 Trewon was contracted to complete a formative evaluation of the Healing Justice Program and its development through its three phases of growth: conceptualization, planning, and implementation.

  • Trewon Conducts Evaluation of Criminal Justice Program in Tucson, Arizona
    Role: Social Justice, Evaluation

    Located in Tucson, approximately 60 miles from the United States’ southern border, the American Friends Service Committee’s Criminal Justice Program (CJP) seeks sentencing reform, reduction in mass incarceration, and improvement in prison conditions. Using non-partisan data analysis and research, grassroots organizing and mobilization, coalition building across the political spectrum, and public advocacy, CJP supports public dialogue and engagement on prison privatization and prison reform. Trewon was asked to evaluate the effectiveness of this public policy work for the three years prior to the evaluation.

  • Trewon Provides Technical Support Services of DATA Act Solution for Bureau of the Comptroller and Global Financial Services (CGFS)

    In 2014, the Digital Accountability and Transparency Act of 2014 (DATA Act) (P.L. 113-101) was signed into law. The Act established government-wide data standards for federal funds and entities receiving such funds. It also ensured that information is consistent and comparable, which make the data more accessible and reusable, while also providing necessary linkages between financial events. By making federal spending data easier to attain and use, while also making it more reliable, the public can better understand how government spending affects their communities. To this effort, Trewon provided the technical development support services of the DATA Act solution to the Department of State (DoS), Bureau of the Comptroller and Global Financial Services (CGFS).
